The Homes for Ukraine Scheme² is a government scheme that permits you to provide free housing to a Ukrainian national or a member of their immediate family who lived in Ukraine before January 1, 2022.

The scheme is only open to Ukrainians and their immediate family members who have already identified someone in the UK willing to sponsor them.

How does it work?

A prospective sponsor or a refugee wishing to be sponsored can complete an online application form.

To be able to support, you must:

• Have a spare room in your house or vacant, self-contained housing.
• The lodging must be available for a minimum of six months.
• It should be suitable for the number of people to be accommodated and for people to live in.

In Addition 

The government will carry out eligibility checks or a home visit and is offering an optional ‘thank you’ payment of £350 per month per residence address as long as you sponsor someone.
